This list is split into two parts: Alternatively, you could just get a plastic quick-connect from your local hardware store and use a length of garden hose. An oil extractor to remove the engine oil through the dipstick tube. E10 Torx socket to remove the oil filter cover. A funnel for pouring in the oil without making a mess. A 5 gallon bucket for catching anti-freeze. An oil recycling jug that will hold at least 8 quarts.
Tips on choosing a garden hose
Posted 07 November – I hooked a hose with a quick connect to the flush adapter and then had a funnel on the other end of the hose elevated to the level of the tower. Without the engine running I poured full strength antifreeze into the funnel. Old river water was draining out from under the boat, out of the grate. It was as if the antifreeze pour was pushing the old water out of the system.
Attaching a pressure washer hose can be an easy job. Attaching the hose correctly however is very important before you start using your power washer. Use this step-by-step guide to learn how to attach a pressure washer hose correctly. The tools and materials required for the job are given below. Step 1 – Check Garden Hose and Washer Wand The first step you will have to perform is to check if your garden hose and your power washer wand are in perfectly good working order.
Observe your garden hose and look for holes or cuts. If you find them, replace the hose. You can do this easily. Fill up a bucket ofwater 5 gallons for example , note the time it takes to fill it up and divide it by 5. That is your GPM.
How to Properly Flush a 2 Stroke Jet Ski/Sea Doo/Waverunner/Personal Water Craft
Unfortunately, most people do not understand the harmful effects of saltwater on their motors and fiberglass bodies. Flushing your engine after every ride is a good way to prevent clogging the water passages inside your engine. Salt water is especially corrosive, but fresh water is still filled with unfiltered debris that can affect the water flow in your engine.
SBT carries flush kits that you simply attach to your garden hose to get the unwanted water out.
Whats wrong with the toilet plunger? D rand, There’s many methods that everyone uses, just do a search on here and pick which one you like. Worked great, no tools involved after the initial install. Get up this am to see a lot of great suggestions. While splicing T fittings into the intake hose is a solution, wouldn’t it restrict water flow during normal operation? As much as I like that Perco Flush, is it restrictive?

Contact Author Unthreaded Faucets Many indoor faucets do not have a thread on the inside or the outside. They also come in a wide variety of shapes and designs. This is great for fitting in with your design style, but can be a challenge when it comes to using fixtures and fittings. For example, there are many reasons why you may want to securely fit a hose to an indoor tap.
In my particular case I use the hose most often to fill my aquariums, but it can also be useful for plants and hydroponics, to attach small appliances, for cleaning, and many other applications. It was surprisingly difficult to get a tight and flexible attachment that would work on an indoor tap, but this is what I learned: A Lever Adapter One type of adapter uses a lever to press the tap down onto a rubber ring, to create a tight seal. The best example of this is probably the Koala faucet adapter.
The main limitation of this design is that it only works for a faucet with the 90 degree angle at the end, and within a small range of diameters. For a faucet that is exactly the right design the seal is reasonable good, but can still leak under higher pressures. In my case none of my indoor taps was the right design.
Speedster Continued The weekend was pretty much spent working on the boat. I polished and buffed the outside around the engine bay area. I didn’t want to get rubbing compound all over the place with the motors in. Here are some shots of the buffed out body panels. They turned out surprisingly good. Anyway, here they are:
But obviously you’ve altered some part of the system, that is a problem particularly at high speed. I also run in the same MD water, and it is grassville!!! I installed a cooling water filter to keep the “spinach” from plugging all those nice little fittings and lines. It has to be cleaned frequently, but I don’t have to worry about my machine being plugged up. I also had a melt-off issue at the air compressor plastic hose line.
I am not fond of the water routing here, being sourced from a high temperature location, the exhaust pipe at least on mine. Being high up in elevation on the assembly, left it vulnerable to water starvation when idling. So after a hard run, and then a long idle through a no wake zone, temps on the air compressor went up and the hose failed.
I have since changed the water routing. I believe there was a problem with cooling water in my boat from the factory design. If one does some “parts book engineering”, it will be found that after the model year, S-D increased the diameter of the water supply line from the jet pump and other related items. Hmmmmm, the picture becomes clearer. While I have kept the same size line, I have changed out the right angle elbow fitting at the head entry port, but not so much to cause other imbalances in the system.

If there isn’t a spigot where you need it, you may be able to adapt an existing faucet that has an aerator. If there’s a water line nearby — but no faucet — it isn’t difficult to tap into the water line and install a spigot, especially if the water line is made with PVC. Connecting to an Existing Faucet 1 Turn off the water to the faucet. Unscrew the aerator from the faucet spout.
You can often do this by hand, but if not, use adjustable pliers to do it. Wrap a rag around the aerator to protect it before using the pliers. If you can’t find one at your local hardware store, adapters are sold online. This device, available at hardware stores, prevents water from flowing backward from the hose and contaminating your water supply. Your hose adapter may already include this valve. Turn the water back on, and turn on the faucet to use the hose. It may be in the crawlspace or running along the side of the house.
It may even be underground. Shut off the water to the pipe, and open a faucet connected to it to relieve water pressure. Even after you drain the line, water will spray when the saw penetrates, and you may need a bucket to catch it.
